No, because they're probably both going to be enjoyable entertainment that hits the points fans expect, if perhaps a little too hard, and is perfectly satisfying so long as your expectations aren't too high.

My expectations at films are pretty low - "Please don't be boring."

I guess that's more of a request than an expectation.

Boring first act. Latter part of the film picks up a bit thankfully.

Han Solo is the least charismatic of all the characters, that seems like a crime.

Spoiler: show
Odd cameos in this. Warwick Davis!

Darth Maul for some reason, who looks jacked.

Mud pit wrestling with Chewbacca!

This film answers important questions like "How did Han get his last name?" and yes, Teras Kasi from that playstation game is canon.

Oh yeah, in an earlier thread, I said I want to see a Star Wars film deal with
Spoiler: show
droids revolting/address ownership of these sentient beings
and this one did. Weird.

A friend told me the movie explained why Han calls Chewie "Chewie."

Ugh.

Spoiler, because Chewbacca is a long word.
That is about as deep as this film gets.

It was empty, but fun. There are many things that happen that would not happen, a LOT of bad writing, but It was still fun. It seemed more like a collection of cut scenes than any type of story that anyone wanted to tell, but it was fun.

And if...
Spoiler: show
They make a sequel and it is Han going straight to the job he fucked up for Jaba, instead of just his first of many jobs for him, that will suck even more.

The other end thing...
Spoiler: show
with Darth Maul doesn't make a whole lot of sense time wise and within the Rebels universe because of his look and what he was doing. Running a major crime syndicate that was helping the Empire, while the Emporer doesn't know about him, and he is suddenly larger with a new staff.

Saw it. It's not deep. No surprises or subtext like The Last Jedi, and it hits some very expected plot points.

But it was fun.

Loved it.

Super big fun time when the asteroid field music from Empire kicked in.

Shame it bombed, because - once again - the big baddie's story line won't get developed. Dude can't catch a break.

Best SW character ever, in her own movie? Nah, I think she's better off in a never-ending string of TV shows that keep going until I kick the bucket.

Do I have to watch the Clone Wars to appreciate Ahshoka? I watched all of Rebels and don't get it.

Hey, it's the guy whose TV show got canceled, because the only funny guy on it quit to be a band leader on a lame talk show.

Yes.

Yes, you do.

The show starts off rather "kiddie", but by the third season seriously starts to have some of the best SW storytelling since the OT.

Yes, why did you watch Rebels first? Her appearance in Rebels would make no sense to someone who has not watched Clone Wars. Same goes for bad guy's appearance in Solo.

Because I didn't care about the Star Wars prequels and didn't have a desire to watch the spin-off series.

I thought Rebels was its own thing, alas, no, it was tied to some other series.

re: bad guy - Han Solo fought a giant ferret in the books, I can accept whatever stupid shit they put on screen. But they really should have put the ferret in.

Watching two seasons to get to a good season goes against my TV watching rules. It has 3 episodes to win me over.

You will never watch Clone Wars, because the 1st episode is actually the 16th episode of the 2nd season, the 2nd episode is the 16th episode of the 1st season, and the 3rd episode is the movie that was released theatrically. That mess continues through the entire series, and requires one of two specific guides to view it in a correct sequence.

I've watched the series 4 times.
