These are mostly my thoughts.

I am unimpressed so far and I really want to be impressed because Daredevil was in the top 5 series I dug as a kid, especially when Frank Miller was allowed to run the show.

As to the dumpster, Daredevil has a radar sense which allows him to see in a way similar to echolocation. More sophisticated and accurate, though.

I am at episode 3.

Karen Page is absolutely hot.

Give it time. This show has a bit of slow start in the beginning but then starts to build and build towards a pretty outstanding finish.

The single-take fight scene at the end of episode 2 remains an early highlight.

I agree with everything said here, but to echo Downhuman, give it time. I feel like the first four episodes were good but not great. However once Fisk is introduced, this series really finds its footing and Daredevil, Karen Page, Foggy... shit, everybody becomes three dimensional in a way that the Marvel movies can't achieve. It is my favorite series of 2015 so far.

Daredevil Season Two Has Started Filming

It was presumed that season two of Daredevil would begin filming in July thanks to various reports from fan blogs, and now thanks to set photos, we have confirmation that season two has, in fact, begun production.

Image
Image
According to Twitter user Shelly Kay, the show is using the code-name Ringside for season two instead of Bluff, which they used for the filming of season one.

As of right now, we know that Rosario Dawson's breasts will return as Claire Temple's breasts in Daredevil, as well as the other Netflix shows, and we know that Jon Bernthal will be playing Frank Castle, a.k.a the Punisher. No additional casting has been confirmed, although, if you'll recall Marvel hid some of the cast additions for the first season well into filming. They'd announced multiple cast members at NYCC, and then confirmed an additional list of six cast members relatively close to the release of season one on Netflix.

With Bullseye and Elektra rumored to join season two of Daredevil, there's a very good chance we'll be hearing more casting news soon.

As always, for all things Daredevil be sure to follow along here.

My motivation for watching this show has died dramatically.

After the whole head-in-door-repeat-until-severed incident, nothing else has much drawn me back, yet.

I am sure I will finish it, but why did they decide to make these episodes like paint drying?

It is fucking painful.

And the long-ass introduction/credits is painful.

Boring.

Give me more of something good.

Holy fuck.

I know. I know. I am on the cusp of it being cool.

Why then the painful edging technique?

You don't have to be boring to be deep.

Just finished the first episode. Cool atmosphere, but definitely a slow pace.

Got through to episode 4, where there's a few references that might have played like a throwaway reference to you guys, but jumped out at me and pissed me off (partially because I was expecting them, though they were even more ham-handed than I expected--here is one of the blog posts complaining about it that anybody who's concerned with education has been passing around and reading lately. I caught the Agents of Shield one as it aired, before hearing about it from anyone else, and that pissed me off, too).

Shilling for shit public policy aside, it's shaping up to be a good show. But the awkward shoehorning in of bullshit anti-teacher propaganda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Guys, why didn't you tell me the redhead from True Blood was in this, I would have watched it a month ago.

Dicks.

Daredevil: created specifically so Debra Ann Woll from True Blood can once again not show her breasts.

Sorry you don't like the tone. It's right to complain, though. Those references were awkward and weird. They didn't fit, and they seemed shoehorned in specifically to support a misleading narrative and bad policy.

They were over quickly, which is the best thing that can be said about them. Probably, if those aren't things you think about a lot, they didn't jump out at you. Sure did for me, though. Even the Agents of Shield one that I saw cold. And they were shitty. Reminded me of when the guy who writes Fables went on a page-long love-letter to Israel out of nowhere one issue. Here you are, enjoying a piece of fiction, and you're smacked in the face with awkward bad politics.

Enjoying the show, though. Just like I'm looking forward to the last issue of Fables. I'm just hoping we've seen the last of that sort of thing, in either case. Replace the corporate education reform with naked Woll, and I'd be a happier viewer.

I went to hippie school for most of my youth and it enabled me to be a proficient autodidact.

The couple public schools I was forced to attend were frustratingly bad.

So, I can only imagine most people have similar experience.

Not sure to take it more as a comment that schooling outside of the norm is generally thought of as superior, especially when you attach a price tag to it.

I don't think most people will view it as anything more than a shorthand method of saying "rich people school."

This. What research exists comparing public schools to private ones generally suggests that, with the same kids, publics do a better job. They don't have the same kids, which is part of the reason people tend to assume privates are better--private schools have the sort of relatively affluent kids that go home to stable home lives and have parents who care enough about education to pay for what's generally perceived to be better schools, so they do better in school. But they'd probably do better in public schools than they do in private schools or charters--which is the opposite of what your average person expects.

Don't care. She's so goddamn beautiful that the fact I haven't seen her tits barely even registers. Her gorgeous face is more than enough for me.

She IS gorgeous.

Though there is one scene that was lit in such a way that her mustache was really, really distracting.

I wish I was kidding.

Pfffft. Who are you trying to impress? She's not reading this, admit you want to see them tatties, son.

Watched the last episode.

The costume really sucks. And the "climactic" battle between Daredevil and the Kingpin was a hell of a letdown. But the season overall was entertaining enough that I'll watch another.

And hold out faint hope of full frontal Woll.

I'll have to heartily disagree there. That was pretty much as classic a Daredevil/Kingpin smackdown as you'd find in the comics.

Never said I didn't want to see them. Just that she's so beautiful, that seeing her tits is almost secondary. I could totally jerk it to just her face.

I'm kind of with Eric. After that fight in episode 2, and then the ninja fight, it was underwhelming. Cool, but underwhelming.

Costume was a bit stiff, too.

That said, it was cool enough so that I'm sure they'll have the kinks worked out for season 2, which is now official and is currently being filmed.

Rad.

Finished the first season.

It definitely picked up with Stick, too bad there wasn't more of him.

The death of Ben was a little unsettling considering how integral he was with Daredevil, The Punisher, and Spider-Man. But it was logical.

I would have rather seen Kingpin in a luxurious jail cell bought for by his corrupt money and connections that probably still fear him. Give it more of "this ain't the end" type of feel since Kingpin should get more powerful as things move along.

The suit was a bit stiff.

I can't wait for Karen's porn career to start in the series.

About a month for season 2.

Pretty excited. They're adding Punisher and Elektra. Not a huge Punisher fan, but if handled right he's a good foil.

I'm a fan of Ennis' version of Punisher but the other versions never did anything for me. I'll be interested to see which direction they take him. I'm really looking forward to this season though. Can't wait to see what they do with the Elektra relationship.

"You're one bad day away from being me" sounds less like Ennis's Punisher and more like Moore's Joker.

I agree. Still, this series has been gritty so far so I'm still hopeful.

The dialog may sound like it's out of Killing Joke, but that has been DD and Punisher's relationship all along. Same goals, huge conflict due to their differing methods.

I just finished Jessica Jones (didn't really like it at all, way too slow and dragged out) so I could be ready for Daredevil tomorrow. I'm really excited, season 1 was amazing.

Liked Jessica Jones much better than Daredevil, but I'll still watch the second season. Slower, maybe. Not by much, certainly, but there was more character stuff and it seemed less like it wanted to be a superhero thing. With Daredevil, it felt like it was slow not because the characterization and development was terribly important but because they wanted to dole out the expensive fight scenes sparingly, which works against the superhero series I thought it wanted to be. Hoping the second season is a bit less sparing and has a bit more non-fight conflict with the Punisher introduction.

Great second season. Bernthal killed it as Frank Castle.
