Netflix is the best bang-for-the-buck entertainment bargain out there right now...I'm seriously thinking about cutting out cable entirely and just sticking with internet + phone to save a few hundred dollars a year and just watching what few shows I follow on Netflix or buying the Blu-Ray sets when they're available. Shit, they're gonna be financing and streaming the new Scorsese mob movie with De Niro, Pacino and Joe Pesci...that's quite the coup.

Aside from Fargo and @midnight, I don't watch any TV shows on cable or broadcast. My wife loves it though, as she - like many Gen Xers and Boomers - leave TV on as background noise.

I stopped my Netflix subscription for 2 reasons:

1. I had way too much to watch, and just wanted to get caught up.
2. Someone in Ecuador kept using my Netflix account. I didn't mind so much at first, but they kept adding awful shows to my list, and Netflix kept recommending garbage because of it. To top it off, when I canceled the subscription, these lovely folks in South America just logged in, and signed me right back up again. Homey don't play that, so I killed the account and blacklisted the credit card and all emails addresses on file.

You know, you could have told me that you thought I was streaming from Ecuador.

If I knew the reason you cut me off was a racial/geographical thing, we could have avoided the whole "hurt feelers" thing and I would still be using your account for my own benefit: Consider it a win/win scenario, really.
