Today, while trying to procrastinate, I came across a playlist on my iPod that I'd forgotten about. I'd isolated the 25 most played songs on my iPod last year and made a playlist out of them. Below is the list from last year. Tonight, when I get home, I'll make a new one for 2018 to see how it changed.

I know some of you still have iPods (Kimfair) and many of you use iTunes or other software that would allow you to do something similar. Post up the 25 songs that have the most plays on your device of choice.

It's honestly not that interesting since I'm an album guy, butttttttttt

01: The Residents — Horrors Of The Night
02: Suburban Lawns — Anything
03: The Residents — Death Harvest
04: Suburban Lawns — Janitor
05: The Residents — Shroud Of Flames
06: The Residents — The Crash At Crush
07: The Residents — The Great Circus Train Wreck Of 1918
08: The Residents — Train Vs Elephant
09: The Residents — Killed At A Crossing
10: Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith — Existence in the Unfurling
11: Suburban Lawns — Flying Saucer Safari
12: Suburban Lawns — Not Allowed
13: Suburban Lawns — Pioneers
14: Suburban Lawns — Baby
15: Suburban Lawns — Gossip
16: Suburban Lawns — Gidget Goes to Hell
17: Optiganally Yours — Theme from O.Y.nisqatsi
18: Optiganally Yours — Lemons And Tacos
19: Optiganally Yours — Pirates and Monkeys
20: Optiganally Yours — Whomever Watches You Sleep
21: Optiganally Yours — How Do You Feel?
22: Optiganally Yours — Hope In Your Eyes
23: Optiganally Yours — Martin (midori2tree)
24: Optiganally Yours — night shop
25: Optiganally Yours — Prelude to O.Y.nisqatsi

Existence in the Unfurling is unquestionably my favorite song of the last 25 years. The last 5 minutes are pure fucking astonishment.

While the Optiganally Yours album (O.Y. in Hi-Fi) is my favorite album of 2018. Everything except the singing and guitar work are culled from thousands of samples from Optigan optical discs. Rob Crow has been releasing new albums every month since March and I've been enjoying ever single one of thm, but O.Y. is the goddamn jewel.

I've been obsessed with that Suburban Lawns album for the last year (it thankfully just got repressed on vinyl from Futurismo). I've never seen a performer so obviously not want to be there than Su Tissue, who crawled into a shell and disappear shortly after the band broke up and releasing a solo LP of spooky piano music. She's a weirdo and I love her very much.

Mine's also not that interesting because of me listening to albums.

Pretty much all my top tracks of the past year are from Sufjan Stevens.

If we're looking at all time, it's a mix of Bonnie Prince Billy's "The Letting Go", Elliott Smith's XO, Andrew Bird's the Mysterious Production of Eggs, and Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane over the Sea.

I haven't heard this album. I suspect I'll like it.

My "most played" tracks are somewhat skewed, since I drew them from iTunes, which means this is largely what I've played most on my iPod. Mostly, I listen to that in bed, since I like music when falling asleep and the OB&C doesn't. In my car and in my house, I usually listen to CDs, which means those listens aren't recorded.
