Vindication!!!!!

In India they would say, Vindaloocation!

Yeah, see?

Fucking repetitive blurb writing about the same thing with the added requirement of uniqueness is a hardcore whore of a bitch.

Shit should burn in Hell.

It is the death of imagination.

I am past most of that right now, though.

Currently I am taking files from Dropbox and transferring them to our server in Florida for some sort of legal fiasco.

Why the fuck don't people use our servers as the primary storing space for work?

No fucking clue.

And why the fuck would someone let an airhead "artiste" create her own filing system?

For the love of all that is holy, no clue.

Every month and project type has a unique way of filing folders - none of them are the same.

Gods I hate bad filing systems and this is one of the worst.

Add on top of that the slowness of having to download files, convert them in InDesign to PDF, then export them through the VPN to the servers in Florida that typically egg-timer everything I do..... yeah, my new layer of hell has arrived.

But, I am smiling in Hell knowing Shoe now knows my pain and misery from that other plane of Hell.

Holier-than-thou now much, Shoe?

8-)

Are they looking to get things organized? If so, have you used SharePoint yet? It is easy to design in and maintain, I do it, so it's really easy. And when a new project comes up, you can make a whole project site layout, with additional areas for whatever, file storage, workflow, notifications, calender, etc etc etc... Save that whole site as a template, and later click a button to make a new one.

Uh, yeah, no.

No, they are more than happy letting the art director file and save wherever and however she likes at any given moment.

My first chosen profession, after being a fucking awesome Jedi Master that got tons of Green Woman pussy, was librarian because I enjoyed the ordered system that was Dewey.

So this shit just drives me crazy.

I stay away from it and her as much as possible.

BTW, she is the sort of person that likes her Mac more than a PC because her Mac lights up and all her icons burst out onto her desktop.

No, really.

That is her best reason why she prefers Mac over PC.

People who prefer Macs, do so because of the shiny things. I worked on two Macs today - nothing but crashes every 20 minutes or so. They are like Windows 95 machines these days.

True Story:

There is a woman that comes to my work and does ART (Active Release Techniques: NOT Happy Endings), that both my wife and I go to, 1. because they work, and 2. because they are free through my work. She is actually a very cool body builder that Reid would be speechless around (she looks almost identical to Zap from American Gladiators), is into horror flicks, and reads a lot of Romance Era stuff and junk (has a degree in it actually). She loves both Edgar Allen Poe and Vincent Price. I have some reading of Poe by Price, and offered to give her copies which she excitedly accepted. So in the next appointment, I brought a Micro SD card reader, because the files are on the card I use with my phone. She has a Mac Book (and iPhone) of some kind, and when I presented the Micro SD card, it was as if Buck Rogers had appeared and offered her pudding. To which I extremely smugly said, "Oh, you are an Apple user, this is Ex-Tern-Al Mem-Or-Ry, watch the magic." And when I plugged it in the USB slot, the Mac Book automatically started scanning and copying every photo and video from the drive. Being men reading this, you know that could be a bad thing. So I pulled that fucker out post-haste. Then opened the file management thingy that Apple has and then connected it back again.

And that is a good reason to have more than external memory anything.

True Thinking:

I never volunteer to do anything that might get my porn before untrusted eyes.

Yeah, that would have been spooky.

I have had similar close calls.

I had to outline a major project Sunday before last. It's for maybe the biggest opportunity I've ever had, so I had to get it right. I also wanted to strike while the iron was hot.

Churned out the entire 6,000-word outline in a single day, then sent it off to its destination.

As soon as I clicked "send" I thought, "That was a mistake. To do something that important that fast and just send it off? I should have sat on it for another day or two."

Went pretty well, though.

I'd love to push out 6,000 words EVERY day. I'd get a lot more done! On average I'm doing about 2,000, which is pretty solid -- it's equal to writing 8 pages of a book, or about 4 news articles -- but I'd be happy to boost it.
