I rarely play games. I have two. Street Fighter 4 and DJ Hero. But maybe you guys can convince me to try something new.

lostwire unfriended me, so I guess he checks DIMP enough to notice that GMH started up... but not enough to actually participate on the board or maintain the front pages.

It sucks that lost has been so childish about this. First he yanked my admin privileges at DIMP, evidently because I mentioned thinking about setting up a new site so that the writers could publish their stuff again, and now he's unfriended me on the PSN and on Facebook, presumably because I built GMH. I've emailed him through this whole process and asked him why. I've made it clear that I was loyal to DIMP and would give up the idea of building GMH if he just let me know how to get things up and running at DIMP again, but he's never written me back. Not even once. I like lost and if he hadn't gone MIA at DIMP I'd still be over there maintaining the board and working on the front pages. But really, if I'm going to go to all that effort for someone who doesn't even care enough to notice when the whole site goes down... well... what's the point? I figured that I may as well do the work on my own site than give it to lost with no reward whatsoever. I find it hard to understand why he'd blame me for that.

Then again, given what happened between Frank, lost and Megan I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that he is capable of acting childishly.

Dude,

Welcome to where I've been the last six-seven months (aside from the admin tools being taken away).

Lip service is a waste of my time, and while I've supported Tim, that's all he was giving anyone (when he actually decided to give it) I have to deal with lip service at my job too, but at least I get paid for it there.

Not to pile on but that was my frustration as well. Lost is a cool dude. I loved hanging with him in Michigan and we spoke on the phone a few times after that, but I did get frustrated with the site. I totally understand that he's lost interest and it's a ton of work. I completely get that. 100%.

What I don't get is his unwillingness to let go of any part of it so that the people who aren't burned out can keep it going. That's my only frustration and it got worse every time I'd see him toy with an idea for the site for a day or two and then ultimately drop it again.

So, as far as I'm concerned there are no hard feelings at all about DIMP and I'd go back there tomorrow if there was going to be a serious effort to resurrect the front page. Somehow though I don't think that's going to happen and unfortunately, I won't be surprised if I get unfriended somewhere along the way also.

As for PSN IDs... I need to post mine sometime. I keep forgetting.

Yeah, same here. No hard feelings whatsoever. It's just that I proposed a method for streamlining the front pages that could have gotten the ball rolling again and was ignored. In fact, I'd been telling lost that the way we were setting it up was going to lead to maintenance problems from the very first day I worked on the site. It was meant to be a temporary solution. Again, deaf ears. My main frustration grew out of the fact that I spent countless hours maintaining the forum and the front pages and never got much more than a thank you from lost, and most times not even that. By the end I'd become the only person with any interest in doing the housecleaning required to keep the board up and spam free, and lost rewarded me by yanking my admin privileges and then letting the site go down for over 24 hours without even noticing.

As I said before, it became evident that if I was going to do the work anyway, it made more sense to do it for my own site. That way I'd have no one to blame but myself if things didn't happen or if the pages went off line etc.. Thus, GMH.

My PSN ID is Downnhuman (two n's -- the same as my Xbox LIVE gamertag). I hadn't even noticed but lost unfriended me on Xbox LIVE as well. Never been anything but nice to that guy. We're still friends on PSN though -- strange.

Is it true? Is this you? Where is the '*'? Only a '/'? What does it mean? Where do we go from here? Should we play a racing game online? I'll need your list of games, here's mine....

Bioshock
Brutal Legend
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Dante's Inferno Divine Edition
Dead Space
LittleBigPlanet
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Motorstorm
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Red Dead Redemption
Resistance: Fall Of Man
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

And probably more, this is from memory.

I almost never see you online though. I'd gladly invite you to a MotorStorm Pacific Rift race if I see you.

Yeah, I generally only have time to play around 2AM or 2PM - although the Summer should make my schedule a bit more flexible...what times are good for you?

During the week, 10pm to midnight, usually. Weekends, it varies wildly.

I just tried the demo yesterday, seemed OK, but more of a little kid's game, and not much in the way of racing skills type stuff. Did you try the demo?

Yes. The wife liked it, so I told her to get it.

I am waiting for Gran Turismo 5 as my "serious" racing game.

Right now, Little Big Planet is my crystal meth. They have some racing in there.

I also plan on getting Dante's Inferno, Brutal Legend and God of War III.

Maybe the latest Call of Duty when it comes out, as well.

Pender, if you get Gran Turismo Prolog, you can transfer your saved games to 5 when it ships. Despite it being a glorified demo to some people, Prolog is a fantastic racing game.

Call Of Duty: World At War is a fun shooter, although I only play the zombie levels.

Dante's Inferno is cool, but God of War III will blow your balls away. I just played through the demo this morning, and now I have to get it.

I know I know, it came out months ago, but I get very little good gaming time, by 'good' I mean when I can blast the volume to spinal re-alignment levels, like I did this morning.

Brutal Legend is also a hell of a lot of fun, but not on the level of God of War III. It's funny and cool and the music is great, and the game play is fun too (of what I've gotten through so far, which isn't too much), but it's not as 'intense' or visceral as God of War III.

Sounds intriguing.

I think I will hold off on the Gran Turismo thing until I can plop down $300 on a steering wheel setup.

I nearly killed my tendons with the controller last time I played Gran Turismo on the PS2 and this latest version looks like it will put my balls in a sack and bludgeon them with a velvet covered gold brick.

This time I want a freaking proper setup.

Speaking of accessories, anyone have any recommendations on headsets?

I am looking at a Tritton AX 720 (but with only a 12.5' length of cable I will still be about 2 feet shy of sitting all the way back on the couch), the Sony Bluetooth (although, the number of people experiencing discomfort with this means it is unlikely) or something similar (do other bluetooths work? we just got one for the wife and she uses it about... oh..... NEVER).

I want both God of War III and Dante's Inferno but exactly like you... no good gaming time. I'll pick them up used in a few months. I'm playing Brutal Legend sporadically now and I love it although agree with you that it's not visceral so much as just really fun and the music is awesome. I love Lemmy's character in this.

If you think you're doing bad just because you're considering finally buying a game that came out three months ago, I can beat that. My wife gave me (at my request) The Orange Box for PS3 for Father's Day. I'm finally playing Half Life 2... and fucking loving it...

Don't remember it. If I get a chance to play tonight, I'll look it up and post it. I never get a chance to play online. Mostly, we just watch DVD's and Netflix on the PS3.

The wife is playing the latest Katamari game now though.

You were right, I was wrong. :shame:

I ordered it before I posted that, and the order shows $38.54, I have no excuse for my imperfection, save the fact that I'm only partially American Indian.
