I just spent $140 I don't have, but I had no choice.

Imagine an Axis & Allies board that was 3 feet by 3 feet ... just for the Pacific Theater.

Imagine if the French were an army of their own. So were the Italians. And China. And Australia/New Zealand.

Imagine new units such as half-tracks, destroyers, and tactical bombers.

Imagine the game starts in 1940 instead of 1942.

IMAGINE AN EPIC AXIS & ALLIES GAME!!

Last year Wizards of the Coast put out a huge, revised version of Axis & Allies: Pacific. Just today, they released the revised Axis & Allies: Europe. Both are huge games. And the two game boards can combine to create one gigantic, gigantic board for one gigantic global game. The game map ends up being something like 5' x 3'!!

I couldn't resist. I love this game. I bought them both.

The wife is SO going to hate having the kitchen table taken up for two or three weeks at a stretch, because I guarantee one game will take five to seven hours to finish, if not more. Shoe Jr. and I play a lot of war games together, so this will rock. My buddy is already trying to get an epic overnighter out of this.

That's awesome. I don't really have the room for something like that right now (at least, that's what I'm telling myself to prevent me from buying it) but I have a friend who will only need the very gentlest of nudges to be convinced to get it. I'll play it at his house.

As soon as I told my buddy about a 5' x 3' board and all those new armies, he was like, "All-nighter, how many people? We need to make this happen."

He hasn't been into geek stuff in forever, but the lure of Axis & Allies is impossible to resist.

Shoe used to think about joining our D&D game.

Not any more.

Sad.

It was revenge for Billy Batts, and a lot of other things. And there is nothing that you can do about it. Batts was a made man, and Omega wasn't. And you have to sit still and take it. It's among the Italians. It's real greaseball shit. They even shot Omega in the face so his mother couldn't give him an open coffin at the funeral.

Looks so amazing. Loved playing earlier versions, I do not have the people or room to play that but I wish I did.

I measures our kitchen table last night. Doesn't look like the full, two-game, global version will FIT. Damn.

This is the new global board on my kitchen table:

Pretty big, right?

Now let's give it a sense of scale. Here's what it looks like when I throw the old board on top:
