It's movie announcement day! Movie #7 was shot only during monsoon season, so it took several years to complete. The grandmother is both a literal and figurative monster, a physical manifestation of the corruption of greed. This was my favorite movie of 2018, and I encourage you to take a look at the reviews and the trailer. Movie #7 is TUMBBAD.

We've shortened up a few teases since we got off to a late start this year! I figured no matter how many clues I put up about this one, it wouldn't likely be guessed anyway.

Because I waited too long to get my shit together, we needed to cut don on a few clues here and there in order to have the Wednesday and Thursday before Fest open on Facebook for announcements, etc. We still to lose one clue...

Now would I do that to you...again!

Actually we could do an entire Fest of films Monty hates. Let's see the line up would be.
1. Poultrygeist
2. The Dark Backward
3. Twixt
4. Forbidden Zone
5. Tideland

and we'd need to look a bit more to fill out the rest!

It is truly unsettling.

I would walk around the block five thousand times before I watched any of those again.

Poultrygeist was awesome, and even better with the crowd. One of my favorite fest films.

I just have a low tolerance for "gross" humor, and Poultrygeist was NON-STOP disgusting. Isolated gross-out gore gags I can take, but that film literally made me feel ill.

I feel the same. Watching with the crowd was incredible. I've seen it a couple of times since on my own and with Karen. Both were still fun but that first viewing was magical.

I had dinner tonight with Tigerpal, and asked her to come up with some more films to fill up the all films Monty hates Fest. She said she knows she has more films that he hated other than Twixt. Oh, just thought of another one.

6. Aachi and Ssipak

I didn't have a problem with Aachi And Ssipak (although it made me aware of Korean cinema's obsession with poop humor).

Damn! I thought that was out due to the numerous poop jokes. Back to 5, then.

Movie #8 Clue #2

The production company is much better known for a completely different genre

Movie #8 Clue #3
The American director of this film is most famous for a film made with a foreign star, partially in a foreign language.

It's movie announcement day!

Director Robert Clouse (who is also deaf!) directed Enter The DRagon, and this film was co-produced by Golden Harvest Films of Hong Kong. The adorable stars? Dachshunds dressed up as giant rats in 1982's

DEADLY EYES!

Movie #9, first clue: A couple of themes recurring in this year's films are cursed treasure and taxidermy. This film has both.

I'm surprised no one guessed it sooner. Tigerpal is known for her love of all things Jim Varney.
