4. TERE BIN LADEN (2010)

My birthday is the 28th. Had a great time at last year's Fest and I'd love to come again. If I'm in reasonable travel distance at that time, I'll try to make it again.

I have some big changes coming up, too. But nothing that will interfere with me going. Hope to see you there.

As I always say, ANYONE who travels more than an hour to attend this thing is among the most awesome people on earth, and I hope I can see all of you, and help celebrate Red's birthday.

No celebration of my birthday is necessary.

I shall be there, regardless of the one-week shift in schedule. :)

You should consider Zombeavers (2014). Absolutely brilliant.

I saw the preview of Zombeavers, and thought it looked like a Fest worthy film. I still need 2 movies, so I'll need to seek it out.

I've seen Zombeavers. We could do a LOT worse. And it's got the very best theme song.

Karen and I were just discussing it. We watched Rare Exports with Lil again and she asked when I'd be buying my tickets. I've already put in for the time off. Looking forward to it as always!

I watched a movie last night that's been on my long list for years, and it's going to be in. That makes 5, I still need to decide on a sixth, AND, I still need to discuss the whole shebang with Tigerpal. Progress is being made. There will be some hints forthcoming, but not until after I talk to Tigerpal. Soon.

Glad to hear you'll be coming again, Cary!

Awesomeness! I'm going out this evening, but I will call you before the week is out for our first discussion. Will you be home New Years Eve or New Years Day?

So I was so excited for this until I looked over a list of Fest films and realized that I sort of showed it at Fest #4! The film in question was Night Of The Demon, the 96 minute UK version of Curse Of The Demon which I showed at Fest #4. I was going to show it because A. It was available at the full length, and B. It is the film where the "It's In The trees, It's Coming!" line that opens the Kate Bush song Hounds Of Love is taken from. Oh well, it's still a great film, and one worth seeking out if you haven't seen it. I spoke with Tigerpal, and her films are set (and sound amazing!). I still only have 4, but have 2 at home to preview, and 1 on the way that needs to be watched. I'll be picking 2 of those 3 (or if I can't decide on 2 from those 3, I'll pick something off the long list). I should know by Tuesday what my final 2 moves will be. More info to be listed soon!

The line-up has officially been finalized. More info to leak out slowly over the next few weeks.

Now, would we really show that again?

Actually we might considering how hard Tigerpal worked so we could watch it last year!

Witching and Bitching was my favorite film from last year's Fest. I've seen it a few times now but only with Tigerpal's subtitles. I've been meaning to watch the one currently streaming on Netflix.

I neglected to post my hint from yesterday here.

This film was heavily featured in Famous Monsters of Filmland when I was a kid.

Today's hint is:

This film takes place on Earth, and in space.

Nope. Though I'd like to know which one does!

The first movie announced for Fest 23 is....

The Incredible Melting Man (1977)

Damn, when you said the movie was featured in that magazine when you were a kid, I assumed late 60s, early 70s. There's a movie called The Night Of The Big Heat, starring Peter Cushing, about aliens that invade Scotland - and they look like glowing fried eggs (and they have something in common with the wicked witch of the west).

It's an awful movie, but Monty Python made it famous with their blancmange invasion sketch.
