Fest #24 will be held at my apartment starting on Friday March 4, 2016 at 6 PM sharp, and will conclude on Saturday March 5th at 6 PM. As movies are announced, I will be posting them here for all to see. Keep your eyes on the Facebook Film Fest page for more information on the films, and hints to upcoming announcements. If you're not a member of that closed group and you want to be, please PM me. I hope to see as many of you who can make it this year, I know last year's weather kept many folks away, I can only hope this winter won't be quite as brutal.

Film Fest Running Order

1. Veerana (1988)
2. The Last Of Sheila (1973)
3. Capitao Falcao (2015)
4. Roar (1981)
5. Bad Biology (2008)
6. Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 (2015)
7. Blood Creek (2009)
8. I, Madman (1989)
9. Fantastic Planet (1973)
10. Sexy Killer (2008)
11. Frozen (2010)
12. Wolfcop (2014)

Tigerpal and I spoke on the phone this evening, and finalized (almost) the schedule, and the running order. I just have to decide between two movies for my final one, though I'm leaning heavily one way. Things are starting to get exciting!

Just watched Voyage of the Rock Aliens (1984) starring Pia Zadora the other night, thinking of you...

The Jermaine Jackson song/video from that movie was a huge hit in Europe...in fact, I don't think anyone (ie. middle schoolers) ever knew it was from an actual film, just a really cool music video.

It is delightfully horrible. I had never seen/heard it before.

I'd like to apologize. Between the crazy day at work, and the non stop Bowie coverage, I neglected to post the first hint earlier, so I'll do it now.

The First hint for the first movie is: This film (the last one that I chose) is set in New England.

Ah ha! It must be The Horror of Party Beach (1964) because it was 'the first horror monster musical' in Connecticut.

Right?

If not, I'm going with The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Obviously you didn't see Chris Knight's correct guess of On Golden Pond on FB!

Yeah, it ain't any of those, though Horror OF Party Beach would be awesome to show!

Well, I was looking forward to The Horror of Party Beach, but I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone.

First Movie, Second hint. In the opening scenes, there is a billboard advertising a well known Boston based company

It's only 24 hours, but yes, that's exactly my plan.

I'd like to say The Mist, but that seems a bit mainstream, but again tigerpal has said she loves the monsters in that...

Oh, is it Frozen? I LOVE that film!! But, no that just looks like New England, I think it's Norway or something. To bad.

The Mist seems a tad long for a Fest movie (around 130 minutes), and, honestly, where would you schedule it so the ending wouldn't hang like a pall over everything that comes after it? I love that movie, but it's the kind of thing I have to chew on for a while after I watch it. I remember seeing that in the theater (coming out -- no joke -- to a thick fog that had developed while I was watching it), and going home and staring at the ceiling trying to go to sleep that night.

Good morning Holies!

I have your first clue for movie #2:
According to the filmmakers, this movie averages a grisly on-screen death every two and a half minutes.

I have 3 guesses...

1. Duck, You Sucker! (1971)
2. A Fistful of Dynamite (1971)
3. Once Upon a Time… the Revolution (1971)

I'd be very happy if it is any one of them.

Yes, they are all the same film

It's movie announcement day!

The folks from 5-Second Films went out of their way to re-create the experience of watching a worn-out, off-air VHS recording of a late-night movie, complete with tracking errors and bits of commercials. They claim there are 44.5 deaths in its 1:43 running time and the police chief is a member of a satanic cult... Movie #2 is Dude Bro Party Massacre III:

Movie #3 Clue #1
When I was a kid, my dad and I would watch this together nearly every time it came on TV, which was often.
