It's movie announcement day!

When this film opened last April in Portugal, it didn't do the booming business everyone expected and failed to break even after the theatrical run. The one thing the hero of our movie hates most of all: Communists! He and his trusty sidekick, Partridge Kid, kick some commie ass to keep Portugal safe for fascism in "Capitao Falcao.

(I can't seem to get the vimeo embed code to work here :-| )

I tried fixing the vimeo code, but it didn't work for me either (using the code the same way you'd use the YouTube code). Can't wait to see this, it looks hilarious!

I made a slight change to the running order in the first post, as I decided to move The Last Of Sheila to the #2 slot, and my last film (clues start tomorrow!) to the #4 slot.

Movie #11 Clue #1
Anyone who knows me, and has paid attention to the Blu-Ray release schedule this year should be able to figure out what my last film is.

Millennium comes out next week - because what film fest would be complete without a film about time-traveling, chain-smoking stewardesses?

Millennium is actually a great little forgotten movie. Not sure it fits the Fest profile, though.

You'll be amazed by the idiocy of the cast and crew of this film.

It's movie announcement day! Late last evening on Facebook, Disco Stu got it right, it's Roar (1981). Once called the most expensive home movie ever made, Roar has Noel Marshall, his wife Tippi Hendren, sons John and Jerry, and daughter Melanie Griffith. 70 members of the cast and crew were injured, many severely. Griffith required facial reconstructive surgery following a lion bite. As the trailer below says, it's like watching a live action version of the Lion King while Mufasa holds a switchblade to your throat! Here is the trailer and program art.

I actually watched that about a month ago. The whole film seems improvised with a heavy dose of bat shit crazy/stupid just under the surface. Like the ultra left bleeding heart folks singing the praises of the beauty of the wild not really understanding that a lion will fucking eat you, that's what they do. Like the fireside chat in Natural Born Killers about the snake...

Once upon a time, a woman was picking up firewood. She came upon a poisonous snake frozen in the snow. She took the snake home and nursed it back to health. One day the snake bit her on the cheek. As she lay dying, she asked the snake, "Why have you done this to me?" And the snake answered, "Look, bitch, you knew I was a snake."

Ouch! I think wood chippers always use the head first method, don't they?

That doesn't really clarify things.

That does eliminate a surprisingly large amount, and given the venue, it's probably not the Human Centipede porn parody, sooooo, thinking.....

The local convenience store specializes in just two things.

Final movie announcement day!

The local authorities are reptilian shapeshifters, the titular character transforms dick-first, and the best damn convenience store in Woodhaven is Liquor Donuts. Our last movie can only be... Wolfcop!

Weather's looking good for the weekend...maybe a 30% chance of light snow, but since we've melted off what little snow we've received to date (what a freakishly warm winter), it'll make my commute a snap.
