And now I am podcasting ...

As of 9am this morning, I've officially launched a podcast with Tig of Nerd Out With Me. Our first two episodes are up (along with two bonus episodes available only on Patreon).

It's basically a 120 (or 240, with bonuses) episode retrospective on the 1990s, done by two guys drinking beer in an attic. Movies, comic books, TV shows, video games, music. There are shortened video versions and full-length audio versions (and full length video versions on Patreon).

A trailer:

Podcast page, w/ subscribe links for podcast services and direct mp3 downloads:
http://www.nerdoutwithme.com/category/podcasts

This project is tied in with a Patreon, which provides all sorts of bonus stuff and helps us out with hosting and such. Yer support is welcome, even if it's just spreading the word:
https://www.patreon.com/nerdoutwithme

A longer trailer with more info and clips and such:

Spoiler: show

And our first video episode is here:

Should be a fun project. We actually have the first 12 episodes in the can already, so we WILL be sticking with the weekly format. They get better and better as we work some kinks out (though in episode 3 we're a little sauced). We're starting to line up guests now, too, for future episodes.

It's really tempting to pay the $25/month, just to have you talk about Krull for 10 minutes.

Every. Month.

Every. Month.

That seems a minimal amount of KRULL time considering the depth and expanse of the content.

Seems like 10-15 minutes per day would be more appropriate.

Someone ... someone actually pledged $25 a month.

Well, I wouldn't push Krull on this podcast, since it's not a 1990 thing.

Maybe a "what would you like to see in a sequel to Krull, set 7 years after the original?"

Yeah, that's worth $25.

There's an unreleased Krull pinball machine from the early 80s that you could talk about for 10 minutes.

That's a pretty rare pinball machine...worthy of a podcast discussion.

Is the idea to have 10 minute guest appearances by random people to talk about Krull?? I can be the krull pinball expert.

Shoe - don't know if you listen to The Nerdist podcast at all, but there is a brief conversation at the end of the recent Edgar Wright episode where they talk about Gremlins 2. It's about why all those new Gremlins showed up (Brain Gremlin, Spider Gremlin, etc.).

Looking forward to hearing this one.

I've not checked out the Nerdist podcast. Will have to give it a spin, I do like the site sometimes.

The podcast is hit and miss. Hardwick can be too much of a cheerleader sometimes so you hardly ever get anything that's really hard hitting, however if you just want to hear a fun conversation between people, then this is a good place to go.

This week's podcast deals with January 1992. I'm considering it a "soft reboot" of the show. Tweaked the format a bit, improved the sound, improved the incidental music, and am doing a better job of keeping Tig on topic!

Here it is:

http://www.nerdoutwithme.com/025-januar ... ys-of-1992

Subscribe and download links are all there.
