For some damn reason, I've been composing scores to films that don't exist, (hopefully) ominous horror-tinged stuff that has a similar sensibility as my guitar musings, but that (hopefully) comes across much different in practice.

Lately, I've pictured scenes from Cary's The Wash in my head as I've created these.

I've generally written them all at 3am in the pitch dark, laying in bed. Seems a suitable time and place.

Wanted to share one of the first pieces.

Cary, consider this my official pitch to score the inevitable film adaptation of your book:

I have about two hours of material so far, but with music I have a bad habit of prematurely calling something "finished" so I can move on to the next thing, so I'm trying to be a little more measured here. Hope to narrow it down to a good 45 minutes, with an aural narrative running through it. This piece doesn't have any, but there are a few repeated themes in what I've done so far.

Other tracks include:

The Coyote (Sleepwalk)
Sky Tears Open
Out the Back Door
Ascending the Stairs
Shifting Realities
Remembering
Guy Outside the Door

And a number of others. I'll share some more soon, if there is interest.

In the meantime, enjoy The Doppelganger. I like it. Hope you do, too.

I'm floored. Words literally fail me. I love "The Doppelganger" and want to hear the others.

Your wife is okay with a choir of women in your bed with you?

That was definitely way cool, Shoe.

Thanks to those of you who listened.

This was an unexpected music project that turned into something against my will. I hope to have something I can call "finished" soon, but unlike writing words, I'm willing to wait for inspiration on this one.

It's genuinely a work of love and inspiration.

So we'll see.
