One of a wave of upcoming "Pop Art" Universal slipcovers, apparently. Who BUYS this shit? Apollo 13 already had two vastly superior slipcovers.

Compare to these, which, while not remotely a reason to buy anything, are at least pretty decent.

I much preferred the "Reel Heroes" steelbook wave:

Yeah, those are alright. And the comic ones Monty posted are appropriate for at least 4 of those films.

Do the studios provide digital covers for these re-releases (as in a jpg or png file)?

While it's nice that Sony is re-issuing certain movies with problematic transfers (The Professional, B.S.'s Dracula), why does the art suck so bad?

The nigh-cannabis leaves, framing the paused movie, is a nice touch.

Though there are far better images from the extensive canon of King Kong art to choose from, in that cover's defense, that is an original 1933 illustration.

And TT expects us to plop down $35 for it. For such an inflated premium price, you'd think they'd at least spring for one of the original posters.

Doesn't TT have alternate covers on the flipside? I don't remember, since I throw mine out.

I kinda liked the 1984 cover they had, but I barely remember it now.

Scream Factory generally has reversible covers for their collector's editions, and Arrow does them pretty frequently. I can't think of one Twilight Time release that does it, though. TT does usually have the original poster art on the backside of the booklets inside (with newly-commissioned art or a photo on the front side).

It's the stock "Monster Mayhem" text at the top that makes it look extra-tacky.

That's literally one of my favorite movies, and I'm not sure who either of the faces on the sides are supposed to be. The one on the right looks like he might be Jim from Huck Finn.

Looks more like Marlon Brando after a spin through the microwave.

I saw Flatliners at a Drive In, along with Ghost. It was my first time at a drive in (they don't exist where I grew up) - and because both movies sucked, I hated the whole experience. I have never gone back to a drive in because of it.

So, fuck you, Flatliners fans. You deserve that shitty cover, and the remake.

Flatliners is to me as Open Water is to Cary. The biggest aw c'mon film I've ever seen depicting the medical world.

Flatliners is actually the kind of movie they should remake all the time...one with a genuinely cool premise rife with possibilities that was totally botched the first time around. Not that the remake we're getting will likely be any better than the shitty original, but still. But no, we've got to remake stone-cold classics like Carrie, Robocop and Disney's Beauty & The Beast because the originals are "dated" now...

I don't think that Flatliners' cover is necessarily a terrible cover more than it is just a giant pretentious turd of a cover.

For fuck's sake.

And, even putting aside the art itself (which is nicely done, granted), it's become ridiculous that MGM/Fox is putting out these movies (the same versions that have been on Blu for a decade in some cases) for the umpteenth time with new cover art. "It's Malibu Stacey with a new hat...!"

At least Scream Factory will give us new extras, transfers and cover art that is mostly complimentary when they re-release catalogue titles that have been out for a while (looking forward to their take on Misery).
