I've announced this on Facebook and elsewhere but, my horror novel, The Wash, is available for order on Amazon now as an eBook. The physical version will be available by the end of the month.

Here's a link!

It's been a weirdly productive month for me. Between that, the anthology and also getting my blog back up and running, things have been a bit hectic which is why I haven't been posting as regularly.

Here's a link to my blog for those interested.

A big, big thanks to Shoe who helped me edit The Wash. I learned quite a bit from working with him on this.

Congratulations.

Will it be available through Barnes & Noble for my nook?

Congrats, Cary, hopefully you get credit for Kindle Unlimited Downloads.

It will be in January. I opted to go with the Kindle Unlimited enrollment for 90 days as it gets out to a much larger audience quickly. That makes it exclusive to Amazon for that period of time, but as soon as that's over, it will hit other distribution channels including B&N, Apple, etc.

I tossed and turned about that one for a little while before deciding to agree to the KU option initially.

I do. With the KU option, they actually track how many pages were read by KU subscribers and my credit is based on that. It's weird. Like streaming a movie on Netflix or something.

Glad you decided to push this out of the tree and show it to the world. It's good work that deserves to be read. I'll be getting a printed copy.

Cool, downloaded it last night, and started reading. 21% of the way through (according to Kindle), Thanksgiving with Ruth. I really like it so far. I let my son read the first section after I did, he approves and has asked me about the scary parts later on.

Thanks! I look forward to hearing what you think of the rest.

I'm part of a writer's group called OC Fictionaires and everyone in it is a published author and all but one of them besides myself write fiction for a living. The large majority of them write either romance, mystery or fantasy. There's only one other writer (Lisanne Harrington) in the bunch who writes horror. Each meeting, three people read something they're working on and the others give feedback.

So about two years ago, I read that first chapter to the group and got a lot of positive feedback on it. After going around the room it came back to me and I explained that it was part of a horror novel and someone suggested that next time around, I bring in one of the chapters that was scary.

So I did. I read a chapter from later in the book that is very graphic. That's when I saw everyone but Lisanne get uncomfortable. The best was watching one of the guys who writes fantasy. He's a Bronie and has written a ton of short stories and novels all aimed at the YA crowd and all about friendship and magic. He seemed honestly offended.

Lisanne and I still laugh about how the mood in the room changed.

Reminds me of the Doug Stanhope bit about his creative collaborations with neighbors.

I bought it, and discovered after the fact I had ebook credit at Amazon and didn't even know it. So I bought one of your other books too. I'm looking forward to reading it! Congrats on getting your work published!

Hey guys. The physical book is now available on Amazon. It'll be up on B&N soon too but it could take a week or so. The distribution channels are slower apparently.

Hope you enjoy it!

After the writer's group story about you making people cringe, I very much am interested in this book.

Earmarked it in my Prime Amazon.

Still hasn't been delivered. Just checked on Amazon and there's a more indicating they think it was lost in shipment. Strangely, it was shipped using Amazon's own delivery service and was set to be delivered to Amazon's own storage locker here in Philly. They're gonna send me a replacement now. Weird.

It's a weird book. Perhaps cursed even.

I got a box of them a couple of days ago. I really like how it turned out as far as the cover, layout, etc. I've got a bunch of marketing stuff I'm trying to get wrapped up before Thanksgiving and then after I get back, I have to buckle down and finish the next book. It's written but I'm revising the last third of it. It's a completely different tone and vibe than this one even though it's still horror related.

About half way through, I don't read for myself often, loving the characters and I'm 100% into it. Good stuff, Cary.

Mine came within two days, which was surprisingly fast for print on demand. They usually take a week by default.
