1-dimensional characters do some things in a sometimes brilliantly, sometimes annoyingly edited film.

That's my review.

Sorry, I can't hear you over Hans Zimmer's OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD SCORE!!!

I legitimately had issues making out the dialogue in the mix but wasn't sure if that was a theater problem or what.

It was the same problem with The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar...Nolan clearly doesn't want the dialogue in his films to be intelligible at times. He just wants the intimation of characters speaking while Zimmer cranks up this blaring wall of noise that swallows up everything. Annoying.

Finally watched it, the score was messed up. I checked my audio system to make sure a speaker hadn't blown.

Besides that I loved the film.

I watched the film with my Dad and brother a few weeks back, and my brother noted (without my even prompting him) how irritating/incessant the music was. I replied that it was basically the musical equivalent of the "You wanna hear the most annoying sound in the Universe...?" scene from Dumb & Dumber. You can create tension with a film score without it sounding like a ice pick drilling into your eardrum for two hours.
